Back in the Saddle
It has been far too long since I have updated this website and also to have posted a blog. All my fault. Life has a way of upsetting one’s plans, or as the adage goes, “Man plans and God laughs.” On September 15th, 2022 I had a stroke. Of course being me, it was the rarest kind of stroke, a spinal cord stroke. Thus it took four months to diagnose and then an additional five months to relearn how to walk and function. I am now limited physically but still love to take photographs. These days it is mostly from parking lots or pull offs along roads winding through scenic places. Short hikes along well groomed paths are fine but strenuous treks up mountains are a thing of the past.
This is simply a change. A change from grand vistas (unless I am in a plane or atop a mountain that I took a train or car top) to far more intimate images, things and places close up and personal. It has also slowed me down and helped me concentrate on the here and now, to observe and reflect instead of dashing hither and yon to the next photographic location like a mad squirrel. I hope you enjoy these lates images of Wales and South Australia as much as I did taking them.
